Our Community
Intercon is located in the mid-Atlantic region, midway between New York and Florida, in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Just 3 to 4 hours away is our nation’s capital to the north and the Tidewater region to the east, featuring historic Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, Virginia Beach and the Eastern shore. Less than 2 hours away is Charlottesville, home of the University of Virginia and Monticello; Richmond, the state capital; Lexington, home of Virginia Military Institute; and Blacksburg, home of Virginia Tech. Local attractions include Smith Mountain Lake, Wintergreen Resort, Appomattox Civil War Surrender Grounds, National D-Day Memorial, Peaks of Otter, the Jefferson National Forest, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and more.
